Hillcrest House is a former 19th Century coaching inn on the road to Dovedale. It was originally called the Dovedale Hotel and provided lodging, refreshments and a change of horses to coaches on their way. It is now run as a private family guest house by local couple Dan and Margaret Sutton who continue the traditions of yesteryear.
With the most stunning views of the surrounding countryside, what better place to explore from. You can leave your car and set off on foot in any direction, on some of the most popular footpaths in the Peak District.
There is a reception area, licensed residents lounge and dining room. All are tastefully furnished, in keeping with the character and atmosphere of this warm and friendly home. The lounge and bedrooms all have extensive views of the surrounding countryside.
The large Super King room is very spacious with a very large window overlooking Thorpe Cloud; the Four Poster rooms, with kingsize beds, are perfect for a romantic get away with a touch of luxury and the other rooms consist of two Doubles, again with kingsize beds, a Twin and a Single Room. There is also a wireless connection for your laptop so if needed you can keep up with friends.
